Technical Manager

Guildhall is running this search for a global main contractor scaling up its UAE building construction team on a live project. The Technical Manager will take ownership of the technical department drawing coordination, submittals, RFIs and technical approvals on site in Dubai. The client is actively mobilising delivery teams across the UAE right now, and needs someone who can run the technical office from day one. It's a department-head seat with direct exposure to UAE consultants, authorities and subcontractors, not a desk removed from the work. The role • Run the technical department for a live building construction project in Dubai. • Review and coordinate architectural and structural drawings, resolve design conflicts. • Manage preparation and submission of shop drawings, submittments and RFIs. • Coordinate with design consultants, subcontractors and site teams on compliance. • Review method statements and provide technical solutions for site activities. • Track design changes, approvals and revisions to prevent delays and rework. • Ensure technical deliverables meet specifications and UAE regulatory requirements. • Support planning, procurement and construction teams with technical input. What's on offer • Department-head ownership of the technical function on a live build. • A mandate to run the office immediately, not grow into the position. • Direct exposure to a major contractor's active UAE delivery pipeline. • Bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related field. • 10+ years of technical experience in building construction, including managing teams. • UAE building construction project experience. • Strong knowledge of architectural and structural coordination and approval procedures. • Track record coordinating directly with UAE consultants, clients and subcontractors.
