Fabrication Supervisor

Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking a candidate with a "can do" & a strict authoritative presence on the shop floor. The ideal candidate is a practical leader who can efficiently manage our workers, foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement, and have significant experience in sheet metal fabrication. Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable) Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a manufacturing supervisory role. Significant experience in sheet metal fabrication (cutting, bending, welding) is essential. Technical Expertise: Must be proficient in the following: • Laser Cutting Machine operation is a must. • Press Brake / Bending Machines: Must understand the fundamentals of bending, allowances, dyes & tools. • Welding Processes: Must have good knowledge of TIG, MIG, Spot & Laser Welding. Technical Literacy: Proficient in reading engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and job travellers. Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a production team. Must be capable of managing blue-collar workers according to capabilities. Language: Fluency in Hindi is mandatory as our labor force is largely North Indian. Key Responsibilities (From the Job Description) Production Oversight & Quality Control: • Supervise cutting, punching, bending, and welding processes to ensure adherence to engineering specs. • Verify dimensional accuracy and bend allowances at all stages. • Ensure job cards are accurately prepared and implement rigorous inspection protocols. Team Leadership & Efficiency: • Directly supervise fabrication personnel, assign tasks, and monitor workflow to eliminate idle time. • Record daily attendance, manage shift schedules, and authorize overtime. • Train new hires and upskill existing workers on techniques, safety, and quality. Process & Workflow Management: • Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks. • Ensure timely material requisitions and proper handling, storage, and identification of parts/materials. • Maintain organized, clean, and efficient work areas (5S principles). Safety & Equipment: • Enforce strict compliance with all company safety policies and PPE. • Conduct regular safety briefings and audits. • Ensure machinery is operated safely and maintained; report malfunctions immediately. Preferred Qualifications (Advantageous) Direct experience with electrical switchgear fabrication (e.g., enclosures, bus supports, brackets) is strongly preferred. Fluency in English. Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Metalix, CypCut, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office. A formal technical qualification (e.g., Welding Certification, Machining, Engineering Diploma).
