Specialist - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Overview A premium private hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Specialist Physician for its Intensive Care Unit to provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring, stabilization, and advanced medical interventions. The successful candidate will collaborate with consultants, emergency physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other specialists to support effective critical-care delivery. Clinical Responsibilities • Assess and manage patients with serious and potentially life-threatening conditions. • Monitor patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, and acute organ dysfunction. • Support ventilatory management and other critical-care interventions within approved clinical privileges. • Review clinical observations, laboratory findings, imaging, and monitoring data. • Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans. • Recognize deterioration and coordinate urgent escalation when necessary. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on treatment decisions and patient transfers. • Communicate with patients' families regarding clinical progress, where appropriate. • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow infection-control and patient-safety protocols. • Participate in ICU rounds, clinical audits, and quality-improvement initiatives. Requirements • Recognized specialist qualification in Intensive Care Medicine or an accepted relevant specialty. • Specialist-level experience consistent with applicable UAE licensing requirements. • Eligibility for, or an active licence from, the relevant UAE health authority, as required. • Strong clinical judgment and experience in critical-care management. • Excellent communication, teamwork, and emergency-response skills. • Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety.
