Specialist - Intensive Care Medicine (ICU)

Overview A premium private hospital in Sharjah is seeking a Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine to assess and manage critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring, advanced treatment, and organ-support interventions. The successful candidate will work closely with intensivists, emergency physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other specialists to provide safe and effective critical care. Clinical Responsibilities • Assess, stabilize, and manage critically ill patients. • Monitor patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, and acute organ dysfunction. • Support ventilatory management and other critical-care interventions within approved clinical privileges. • Review laboratory results, imaging, and physiological monitoring data. • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. • Recognize clinical deterioration and coordinate urgent escalation when necessary. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate treatment and patient transfers. • Communicate with patients' families regarding clinical progress as appropriate. • Maintain accurate clinical records and follow infection-control and patient-safety protocols. • Participate in ICU rounds, clinical audits, and quality-improvement activities. Requirements • Recognized specialist qualification in Intensive Care Medicine or an accepted relevant specialty. • Specialist-level experience appropriate to the position and applicable UAE licensing requirements. • Eligibility for, or an active licence from, the relevant UAE health authority, as required. • Experience in managing critically ill patients and responding to clinical emergencies. • Strong decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills. • Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety.
