Job description

• Prepare comprehensive, highly accurate cost estimations for upcoming electrical projects and tender submissions. • Review, analyze, and approve project quotations, vendor proposals, and subcontractor bids. • Conduct value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising on quality or safety. • Monitor project budgets continuously, ensuring financial targets and profit margins are maintained. • Oversee the daily progress of multiple concurrent electrical projects across various sites. • Coordinate extensively with cross-functional project teams (MEP, Civil, Architecture) to ensure seamless integration and execution of electrical works. • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with the overall master project plan. • Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and main contractors regarding electrical scopes. • Evaluate overall project performance against baseline schedules and budgets. • Proactively identify potential bottlenecks, material shortages, or operational delays, and implement immediate corrective action plans. • Ensure all electrical installations comply with stringent company quality standards and relevant UAE local authority regulations (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Civil Defence). • Conduct regular site inspections and lead progress review meetings with site teams. • Direct, supervise, and mentor junior electrical engineers, providing technical guidance and support in their daily planning and execution tasks. • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring balanced workloads and accountability among the engineering team. • Identify training needs and foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and high performance within the electrical department. • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (attested for UAE requirements). • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in electrical project engineering and management, entirely or predominantly within the UAE construction/contracting sector. • Expertise in electrical estimation and tendering processes. • In-depth knowledge of UAE electrical codes, standards, and regulatory compliance. • Proficiency in industry-standard software (AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera P6, MS Office Suite, and estimation software). • Strong understanding of MEP coordination and integration. • Ability to make swift, informed decisions to resolve site delays and technical clashes. • Proven ability to guide, develop, and elevate the performance of junior engineers. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder management and reporting. • Exceptional organizational skills to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously. • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred. Must possess relevant local authority approvals/licenses (e.g., DEWA/TAQA approved engineer status is a strong advantage).
