Sales Assistant Specialist Transaction Banking

Overview The Sales Assistant Specialist Transaction Banking will support the team in managing and servicing the bank s existing corporate and institutional client portfolio. The role will primarily focus on FX transactions, with increasing involvement in Trade Finance products as the business develops. The role must combine strong mathematical aptitude with excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage demanding workloads and tight deadlines. Responsibilities Client Service & Transaction Operations • Support the team in servicing the existing corporate and institutional client portfolio, handling daily requests, inquiries, and high transaction volumes. • Assist with client FX transactions. • Support clients across Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, and Documentary Collections. Relationship Management & Business Development • Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Treasury, Operations, Compliance, and Product teams; escalate operational issues and client concerns appropriately. • Assist in managing and developing client relationships, negotiating the terms of business and enhancing the service solution. Reporting, Compliance & Record Keeping • Prepare transaction volume reports, client activity summaries, and management updates, and perform financial analysis. • Maintain complete and accurate transaction and client records, including onboarding files for audit and regulatory purposes. Market & Sector Expertise • Maintain in-depth knowledge of market practices, regulatory developments, and competitive offerings across the GCC, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and CIS. • Assist your management in building segment-specific propositions for high-priority industries (e.g., agriculture, fertilizers, metals and mining, real estate, tourism, FMCG etc). Team & Stakeholder Engagement • Assist in preparing for and representing the bank at client meetings, regional industry forums, and transaction banking conferences by compiling briefing materials, presentations, and follow-up action items. • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including compliance, operations, product, and technology teams. Requirements Academic Qualifications • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Economics, Banking, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional Qualifications • Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly preferred. Experience • 0 3 years of relevant experience in banking, financial markets, Treasury, FX sales, Transaction Banking, or Trade Finance. • Client-facing banking experience and strong quantitative academic performance are advantages. Knowledge / Skills Required • Excellent numerical aptitude and mathematical accuracy (essential). • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and Excel proficiency. • Ability to learn banking products and financial markets quickly. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence interacting with corporate clients. • Professional client-service approach; English fluency, with Arabic highly desirable. • Clear long-term career ambition in banking and financial markets. • Ownership, initiative, resilience, adaptability, and strong work ethic. • Ability to perform under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and meet tight deadlines. • Flexibility to work extended hours when business requirements demand.
