Purchasing Officer

The jobs in this level are responsible for providing more complex purchasing activities, to ensure that the vendors meet the performance criteria and providing the required goods and products in a timely manner with the quality expected by placing the purchase orders. Education - Diploma in Administration Experience - 0-2 years of related experience Skills • English Language Skills • Professional Writing Skills • IT & Computer Literacy • Follows all relevant Procurement instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. • Follows the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the Procurement to ensure continuity of work. • Provides departments with buying services to meet the departments requirements. • Identifies vendors for assigned commodities to ensure that the required materials are purchased within the budget and timeframe. • Issues requests for quotation to initiative vendor relationships. • Issues purchase orders after receiving three quotations from different vendors to ensure that the vendor is selected based on best price, quality and delivery in the required timeframe. • Monitors vendor s conformance with contracts to develop the capability of vendors and ensure that the quality is maintained. • Studies market trends and provides relevant information to ensure that the required materials with the needed quality is being purchased. • Participates in proposals and process requests by sending Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to vendors.
