Operations Manager - Quarry & Crushers

Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the quarry, crushing plant, screening plant, stockyard, and related operational activities. Plan and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets in accordance with sales requirements and available resources. Monitor crushing and screening performance to maximize plant capacity, productivity, and recovery while minimizing downtime and production losses. Coordinate quarry development, drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, hauling, and raw material feeding activities. Ensure proper management of quarry faces, benches, haul roads, stockpiles, and material movement. Monitor the quality and grading of aggregates and ensure that finished products meet required specifications. Coordinate closely with the maintenance/workshop team to ensure preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and equipment availability are properly managed. Monitor the condition and performance of crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, loaders, excavators, dump trucks, and other heavy equipment. Analyze equipment downtime and recurring breakdowns and implement corrective actions to improve reliability. Optimize manpower, equipment utilization, fuel consumption, spare parts usage, and other operational costs. Prepare production plans, operational budgets, manpower requirements, and equipment utilization plans. Monitor key operational KPIs including: Production tonnage Tons per operating hour Crusher utilization and availability Equipment downtime Fuel consumption Maintenance cost Cost per ton Product quality and yield Coordinate with Sales, Maintenance, Workshop, Procurement, Stores, HR, HSE, and Management to ensure smooth operations. Maintain adequate stock levels of different aggregate sizes based on sales forecasts and customer requirements. Review production and operational reports and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce operating costs. Ensure proper control of spare parts, consumables, fuel, lubricants, tyres, and other operational resources. Ensure compliance with company HSE requirements, environmental regulations, quarry regulations, and relevant UAE authority requirements. Conduct regular site inspections and ensure safe operating practices are followed throughout quarry and crusher operations. Lead, supervise, and evaluate quarry supervisors, crusher supervisors, operators, drivers, equipment operators, and other operational personnel. Establish clear responsibilities, performance targets, and accountability for the operations team. Investigate operational incidents, production losses, excessive costs, or equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions. Prepare and submit regular production, equipment, maintenance, manpower, cost, and operational performance reports to senior management. Continuously identify and implement improvements in quarry planning, crushing processes, equipment utilization, productivity, and cost efficiency. Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 15–20 years of relevant experience in quarry, crusher, aggregates, mining, or similar heavy industrial operations. At least 10 years in a senior operational or managerial position within a quarry or crusher operation. Strong practical experience in quarry operations, crushing and screening plants, aggregate production, and heavy equipment management. Strong knowledge of crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, and quarry mobile equipment. Good understanding of preventive maintenance, breakdown management, and equipment reliability. Strong knowledge of production planning, operational cost control, and productivity improvement. Ability to analyze cost per ton, equipment utilization, fuel consumption, downtime, and production KPIs. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large operational teams. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Good communication, reporting, and coordination skills. Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and operational reporting systems. Previous experience in the UAE or GCC quarry/crusher industry is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Fujairah quarry and crusher operations and applicable regulatory requirements will be an advantage.
