Housekeeping Attendant

Job Description The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic appearance of the facility, including dining areas, restrooms, offices, and common spaces. This role ensures a safe, welcoming, and spotless environment for all guests and staff. The attendant will perform routine cleaning tasks, manage waste disposal, monitor cleaning supplies, and strictly adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards. Key Responsibilities • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing surfaces across all assigned areas. • Clean and sanitize restrooms frequently, restocking essential supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue. • Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper waste segregation and disposal in designated areas. • Maintain the cleanliness of dining areas, lobbies, corridors, and staff break rooms. • Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals, reporting to management when reordering is necessary. • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor polishers) safely and properly. • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. • Follow strict health, safety, and hygiene guidelines, ensuring the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals (COSHH). • Assist with deep cleaning projects or special event setups and breakdowns as required. Experience • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • 1 2 years of previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning roles, preferably within the hospitality, hotel, or food and beverage industry. • Prior experience in the UAE or GCC region is an advantage. Key Competencies • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness. • Good physical stamina and mobility, with the ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy items for extended periods. • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, proper mixing ratios, and safe handling practices. • Good time management skills and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. • Basic communication skills and a polite, professional attitude when interacting with guests and staff.
