Head of Architectural Design Consultancy Position Overview The Head of Architectural Design Consultancy leads the architectural division, overseeing design strategy, concept development, project delivery, and client engagement. The role ensures creative excellence, regulatory compliance, technical accuracy, and alignment with business objectives. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy • Lead and manage the architectural design team • Develop the consultancy’s design vision and technical standards • Set design quality benchmarks and drive innovation across all projects • Contribute to business development and long-term strategic growth plans Design Oversight • Oversee concept design, schematic design, detailed design, and tender documentation • Ensure full compliance with local authority regulations and international standards • Approve design submissions, drawings, and technical specifications • Lead design reviews and cross-disciplinary technical coordination meetings Client & Stakeholder Management • Serve as the primary design representative to clients and investors • Present design concepts to executive stakeholders and boards • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with developers, contractors, and industry consultants Project Management • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budget and timeline • Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and landscape consultants • Monitor quality assurance across all architectural deliverables Regulatory & Authority Coordination • Oversee submissions to municipalities and relevant regulatory bodies • Ensure compliance with planning laws, building codes, and sustainability standards Business Development • Support proposal preparation and tender submissions • Participate in pitching and securing new projects • Strengthen the consultancy’s brand positioning and market reputation Education & Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture • Master’s Degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or related field preferred • Professional licensure or registration with relevant authority Experience • 12–20 years of progressive architectural experience • Minimum 5–8 years in senior leadership or Design Director role • Proven track record delivering large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects • GCC / UAE authority approval experience highly preferred Technical Skills • Advanced knowledge of architectural design principles and construction methods • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and design visualization software • Strong understanding of sustainability and green building standards • Deep knowledge of international building codes and local UAE regulations Leadership & Competencies • Strong design vision and creative leadership • Strategic business acumen • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills • Proven ability to engage and influence high-level stakeholders • Exceptional team leadership and mentoring capability • 12–20 years of progressive architectural experience • Minimum 5–8 years in a senior leadership or Design Director role • Proven experience handling large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects • GCC / UAE authority approval experience is highly preferred
