Forklift Mechanic – Electrical & Mechanical

• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair electric, diesel and LPG forklifts, pallet trucks, reach trucks, stackers and other material-handling equipment as assigned. • Diagnose electrical faults involving batteries, charging systems, wiring, fuses, relays, motors, controllers, sensors, switches and electronic control units. • Carry out mechanical repairs to engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, steering, lifting masts, chains, forks, bearings and cooling systems. • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines, operating hours and approved maintenance schedules. • Test and maintain traction batteries, battery chargers, electrical connections and safe charging arrangements for electric forklifts. • Identify faults using diagnostic tools, multimeters, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals; conduct functional tests after repairs. • Inspect lifting systems, hydraulic hoses, tyres, warning devices and safety interlocks; report unsafe equipment and remove it from service when required. • Coordinate breakdown response and urgent repairs to minimize disruption to warehouse loading, unloading and internal material movement. • Maintain repair records, inspection checklists, service histories, equipment usage logs and spare-parts consumption reports. • Request required spare parts and coordinate with suppliers, external technicians and equipment service providers for specialized repairs. • Follow electrical isolation, lockout/tagout, battery handling, lifting and workshop safety procedures; maintain clean and safe work areas. • Support equipment commissioning, performance testing, operator defect reporting and recommendations to improve machinery reliability. • Forklift electrical diagnostics, wiring and control systems • Mechanical, hydraulic, braking and steering repairs • Battery, charger and electric motor maintenance • Preventive maintenance, breakdown response and fault finding • Material-handling machinery inspection and workshop safety • Maintenance documentation, teamwork and time management • ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics Engineering or a relevant technical trade qualification. • 5–8 years of hands-on experience servicing forklifts and industrial material-handling machinery; FMCG, factory or warehouse experience preferred. • Demonstrated competence in both electrical fault diagnosis and mechanical/hydraulic repairs on moving machinery. • Experience with electric forklifts, battery charging systems, motors, controllers and forklift safety systems is strongly preferred. • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and service manuals, use diagnostic instruments and document maintenance; UAE/GCC experience is an advantage.
