Construction Procurement Specialist

Job Description We are looking for an experienced **Construction Procurement Specialist** with strong knowledge of **construction materials, suppliers, subcontractors, purchasing, and procurement processes** to join our team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate should have hands\-on experience in construction procurement and be capable of managing the purchasing process from sourcing and quotation evaluation through negotiation, purchase orders, delivery, and supplier coordination. Key Responsibilities * Manage procurement activities for **construction materials, equipment, tools, and services**. * Source and evaluate reliable local suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors. * Obtain, compare, and negotiate **supplier and subcontractor quotations**. * Prepare purchase orders, purchase requisitions, quotation comparison sheets, and procurement reports. * Review BOQs, material requests, drawings, and project specifications to determine procurement requirements. * Monitor material prices, availability, lead times, and market conditions. * Coordinate with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and site teams regarding material requirements. * Follow up with suppliers to ensure **timely delivery to construction sites**. * Coordinate material approvals and ensure purchased materials meet project specifications. * Negotiate competitive prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions. * Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery, and compliance. * Maintain an updated database of suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. * Track outstanding purchase orders and ensure procurement schedules are maintained. * Identify potential material shortages, price increases, and procurement delays. * Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. * Assist management in achieving **cost savings and procurement efficiency**. Requirements * Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in **Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering**, or a related field. * **3\+ years of experience** in procurement/purchasing within the construction industry. * Strong knowledge of **construction materials, tools, equipment, and building services**. * Good understanding of construction BOQs, specifications, and material requirements. * Proven experience dealing with **construction suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors**. * Strong negotiation, quotation comparison, and vendor evaluation skills. * Knowledge of the **Bahrain construction market and local suppliers** is an advantage. * Good knowledge of procurement procedures, purchasing documentation, and inventory coordination. * Proficient in **MS Excel and Microsoft Office**. * Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem\-solving skills. * **Must be currently available in Bahrain.** * **Immediate joiner preferred.** Important Candidates with a **strong construction procurement background** and practical experience sourcing materials and services for construction projects will be given priority.
