Cost Control Engineer – Construction

Job Description We are looking for an experienced **Cost Control Engineer** with strong knowledge of **construction projects, cost management, budgeting, and commercial control** to join our team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring project costs, budgets, expenditures, variations, procurement costs, and financial performance to ensure construction projects remain within approved budgets and targets. Key Responsibilities * Monitor and control **project costs, budgets, and expenditures** throughout the construction lifecycle. * Prepare and maintain project **cost reports, forecasts, and cost control statements**. * Track actual costs against approved budgets and identify cost variances. * Analyze project spending and provide recommendations for cost optimization. * Monitor material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and procurement costs. * Review **BOQs, quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and subcontractor payments**. * Assist in evaluating and tracking project variations, change orders, and additional works. * Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, Project Managers, Engineers, and Accounts teams. * Prepare monthly cost reports and management summaries. * Monitor committed costs, actual costs, and forecast costs. * Assist in preparing **cash flow forecasts and project financial projections**. * Review subcontractor and supplier costs against approved budgets and contracts. * Identify potential cost overruns and communicate risks to project management. * Maintain accurate cost records and supporting documentation. * Assist with final project cost reconciliation and close\-out. Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in **Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance**, or a related field. * **3\+ years of experience** in cost control within the construction industry. * Strong understanding of **building construction and construction project cost management**. * Experience with project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting. * Good knowledge of **BOQ, variations, subcontractor costs, procurement, and project expenditures**. * Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. * Advanced knowledge of **MS Excel** and cost\-control reporting. * Experience with construction/project management software is an advantage. * Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem\-solving skills. * Good communication and coordination skills. * **Must be currently available in Bahrain.** * **Immediate joiner preferred.** Important Candidates with **strong hands\-on construction experience** and a solid understanding of project cost control will be given priority. Candidates with only general accounting experience and no construction background may not be considered. Work Location: In person
