Job Description: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Finance & Accounts

Job Purpose
The incumbent will be responsible for managing plant finance and accounting activities, supporting project accounting, budgeting and MIS reporting, and assisting in financial analysis and planning. The role requires working knowledge of SAP and exposure to financial modelling to support business decisions, project evaluation and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Finance & Accounting: Handle plant-level accounting activities, including general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, provisions and financial reporting.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets, periodic forecasts and financial plans, including analysis of actual performance against budgeted figures.
MIS Reporting: Prepare monthly MIS reports, financial statements, variance analysis and management reports to support business decision-making.
Project Accounting: Monitor project-related expenditure, capital expenditure (CAPEX), capital work-in-progress (CWIP), fixed asset capitalization and project costs against approved budgets.
Financial Analysis & Modelling: Assist in financial modelling, cash flow projections, profitability analysis and project financial evaluation.
Cost Control: Monitor plant operating expenses, analyse cost variances and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Cash Flow Management: Support cash flow planning, working capital monitoring and financial forecasting.
Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with plant operations, project teams and corporate finance to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective cost management.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Experience in plant finance and accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or process industry.
Hands-on experience in budgeting, MIS reporting ,Project Accounting and variance analysis.
Working knowledge of SAP.
Exposure to financial modelling, financial analysis and cash flow projections .
