Job description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Wheel Loader Operator (CAT 950 / CAT 966 or Similar) to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment for loading, transporting, stockpiling, and handling materials on construction, infrastructure, and earthworks projects. The ideal candidate will have experience operating wheel loaders, a strong commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
• Operate a Wheel Loader (CAT 950, CAT 966, or similar models) safely and efficiently in accordance with project requirements.
• Load, transport, and stockpile materials such as sand, gravel, soil, aggregate, and construction debris.
• Feed crushers, hoppers, batching plants, or other processing equipment as required.
• Perform site clearing, backfilling, leveling, and material handling operations.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and perform basic maintenance checks on the equipment.
• Report equipment faults, damage, or maintenance requirements promptly to the supervisor.
• Read and follow site plans, work instructions, and supervisor directions.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, site regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and ground personnel to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain the wheel loader in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
• Identify and avoid underground utilities, overhead hazards, and other site risks during operations.
• Complete daily equipment inspection checklists, logbooks, and work activity reports as required.
Requirements
• Valid Heavy Equipment Operator License or Certification (as required by local regulations).
• Proven experience operating a Wheel Loader (CAT 950, CAT 966, or similar models).
• Good understanding of construction site operations, material handling, and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Physically fit and able to work in varying weather conditions and demanding site environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience working on road, infrastructure, quarry, mining, or civil construction projects.
• Knowledge of GPS and machine control systems is an advantage.
• Valid First Aid Certification is preferred.
• Clean driving record and experience operating additional heavy equipment are advantageous.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar (CAT) equipment and preventive maintenance practices is preferred.
