VMware Engineer

We are looking for an experienced VMware Engineer to manage, support, and continuously improve our VMware-based Cloud Infrastructure. The role will be responsible for VMware Cloud operations, virtualization, networking, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, migrations, and customer onboarding. The successful candidate will work closely with Network, Security, Database, Infrastructure, Application, Architecture, and Operations teams to ensure a stable, secure, and high-performing cloud environment. Key Responsibilities • Experience: VMware / Cloud Infrastructure administration and operations. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field. • VMware Cloud Stack: Strong hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Director, vSphere, NSX-T, and VMware Aria Suite (Aria Operations & Aria Logs). • Cloud Service Provider: Experience administering VMware Cloud Director as a Service Provider and Tenant Administrator , including customer onboarding, tenant creation, Edge Gateway and virtual network configuration. • NSX: Strong NSX-T expertise, including NSX-V to NSX-T migration and Migration Coordinator. • Cloud Migration: Experience migrating on-premises workloads to VMware Cloud Director / VMware Cloud Stack and working in multi-cloud environments. • Backup & DR: Hands-on experience with Rubrik / Veeam / Dell and VMware Cloud Director Availability (VCDA) for backup and disaster recovery. • Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of Azure tenant design/implementation, AWS S3 , and Azure Blob Storage . • Virtualization & SDDC: Strong knowledge of SDDC, SDN, HCI, vSAN, SAN, VM/server/storage migrations . • Containers: Understanding of Kubernetes / Tanzu and PaaS offerings; Kubernetes certification is an advantage. • Operating Systems: Good knowledge of Windows and Linux environments. • Operations: Experience in incident, change, problem, release, capacity, performance and availability management . • Monitoring: VMware infrastructure and hardware monitoring using VMware Aria Operations / Aria Logs . • Security: Knowledge of SSL certificates, virtual network security and infrastructure security . • Vendor Management: Experience coordinating with third-party vendors and technology/service providers . • Support: Strong troubleshooting, RCA, documentation, SOP creation and 24×7 rotational on-call support. Certifications • VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV). • VMware Certified Professional – Network Virtualization / NSX-T.
