Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Telematics Installation Engineer to install, commission and maintain tracking solutions on operational equipment. Maintenance, troubleshooting and support • Diagnose and fix hardware, wiring, power and connectivity faults on site and remotely. • Carry out preventive maintenance, device swaps, battery replacements and firmware updates. • Escalate product issues to the engineering team with clear evidence and logs. Supervision and coordination • Supervise and train outsourced installation technicians | partner’s & client’s installation team and ensure work quality. • Coordinate installation windows with customer operations, maintenance teams and equipment OEMs to minimize asset downtime. Documentation and asset records • Maintain digital installation documentations. • Prepare installation reports, job sheets and handover documents. • Track device and spares inventory across sites. Health, safety and site compliance • Follow airport, port and warehouse safety, security and HSE rules, including permits to work and airside or terminal access procedures. • Use appropriate PPE and follow lock-out/tag-out and electrical safety practices. Qualifications • Diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, Automobile or Mechatronics Engineering. • Preferred • Certification in automotive or heavy-equipment electrical systems. • Training in IoT, RF or networking or vendor device certifications. • Valid HSE or safety training, such as working at height, electrical safety or first aid. • Airside or port safety and security awareness training. Experience • 3–6 years of hands-on experience installing telematics, GPS trackers, IoT devices or auto-electrical systems. • Experience working on heavy equipment, industrial vehicles or specialized machinery. • Experience testing and commissioning devices against a cloud platform or dashboard. Preferred • Installation experience on airport ground support equipment, port and terminal equipment, or material-handling equipment such as forklifts. • Experience working airside at an airport or inside port terminals. • Exposure to BLE, RFID or LoRaWAN technologies. • Experience supervising installation teams or subcontractors. • Skills and competencies Technical • Reading wiring diagrams and working with 12V/24V/48V DC electrical systems, including electric and hybrid equipment. • Use of multimeters, crimping tools, soldering and power tools. • Working knowledge of CAN bus/J1939, digital and analogue inputs and sensors (fuel, temperature, door, load). • Understanding of GNSS, cellular (4G/LTE-M/NB-IoT), BLE, RFID and LoRaWAN technologies. • Device configuration over serial, Bluetooth or web tools; basic understanding of APN, SIM and network settings. • Basic understanding of networking aspects. • Use of laptops, mobile apps and MS Office for configuration and reporting. Behavioral • Strong attention to detail. • Safety-first mindset in live operational environments. • Excellent communication skills when working with clients, partners and internal team members. • Proficiency in English; other languages are an advantage. • Ability to work independently on remote sites and to manage time under tight installation windows. • Customer-facing professionalism when working with operators and maintenance teams. Other requirements • Willingness to travel frequently to sites in India and the UAE, and overseas based on project requirements. • A valid passport, with no restrictions on international travel. • Willingness to work in shifts, at night and on weekends to fit customer operating windows. • Ability to work outdoors in hot and humid conditions and in physically demanding environments. • Eligibility to obtain airport, port and site access permits and security clearances, including background checks. • A valid driving license for the country of posting; eligibility for an airside driving permit is an advantage
