Site Civil Engineer Tunnelling & Substructure

Supervise daily site works on shafts, TBM tunnels and cut-and-cover structures Run piling and deep excavation works to programme and quality standards Coordinate subcontractors, method statements, ITPs and inspection requests Monitor quantities and progress against the construction programme Work alongside design, survey, QA/QC and HSE teams on site Direct route to site roles with leading EPC contractors in Dubai Priority consideration as tunnelling and airport substructure projects open A hands-on site role, not a design-office or office-based position Early access to project roles before they are publicly advertised Dubai's infrastructure pipeline includes deep sewerage tunnels, metro extensions and airport substructure works, and EPC contractors are building out site teams to deliver them. A Site Civil Engineer on these projects typically reports to a Site Agent or Construction Manager and owns day-to-day supervision of shafts, TBM tunnels, piling and deep excavations. Contractors favour engineers with hands-on delivery experience, not design or consulting backgrounds, because these roles sit on site managing subcontractors and quality against a live programme. Demand for proven tunnelling and substructure engineers tends to move quickly once a project is confirmed, which is why many contractors hire from pre-qualified shortlists. • 5+ years as a site or civil engineer on tunnelling, metro or substructure projects • BSc in Civil Engineering • Hands-on experience supervising shafts, TBM tunnels, piling and deep excavations • TBM, microtunnelling, diaphragm wall or secant pile experience is a plus • Society of Engineers UAE registration, or eligibility for it, is a plus • GCC project experience preferred
