Senior Project Engineer

Work is assigned in terms of objectives, relative priorities and critical areas that impinge on work of other units. Work is carried out within broad guidelines, but informed guidance is available. Assigns and outlines work; advises on technical problems; reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy. May make recommendations concerning selection, training, appraisal and discipline of staff. Impact of Decisions on Results: Recommendations reviewed for soundness of judgment but usually accepted as technically accurate and feasible. Cost Control: · Plan and prepare accurate project estimates. · Establish cost report for control of projects. Monitor and control all cost aspects of the project including forecasting costs, obtaining approvals, identifying trends, taking action to avoid cost overruns and identifying opportunities Job Specific Knowledge: 10 years project engineering experience on smaller projects in a brownfield / greenfield environment with associated commercial and contractual experience with a proven ability to lead small multi-discipline teams Industry Specific Experience: Minimum of 8+ years industry experience (Hydrocarbons) Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Relevant degree or equivalent qualification HSE Capability: Demonstrable commitment to HSE Management in a project environment Demonstrates awareness of health, safety & environment issues; takes action to ensure zero harm to all people and assets and zero environmental incidents. Maintains HSE focus within the team to ensure all requirements included in design and procurement IT Skills: Should be proficient in Microsoft software; Should be aware of typical engineering software. People Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills with a high level of customer focus Other: Copes well with and responds appropriately to challenge and change
