Job description

About the Position: Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Representative - Lost & Found to join the resort s Transportation Shuttle team. The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are: • Receives found items handed in from guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, the casino, the spa, the beach and back of house, and records the finder, location, date and time for each one. • Logs every item in the lost property system on the day it is received, writing an accurate description, photographing it where appropriate and attaching a unique reference tag. • Stores items in the correct location within the secure store, keeping the shelving organized, labelled and easy to search. • Hands cash, jewelry, watches, passports, bank cards, medication and other high value or sensitive items straight to the Assistant Manager or Security for enhanced handling and records the transfer. • Answers guest enquiries by telephone, email and in person, searching the system and the storage thoroughly and replying within the agreed service standard whether the item has been found. • Checks the description, identification and booking details of anyone claiming an item, releases it only when ownership is properly established, and refers doubtful claims to the Assistant Manager. • Obtains a signed release for every item handed back and updates the system so the record is closed accurately. • Prepares items for courier return, packing them securely, completing shipping and customs paperwork, confirming charges with the guest and tracking the consignment to delivery. • Follows up on items awaiting collection, contacting guests where contact details are available and recording every attempt made. • Works with Housekeeping, Security and Front Office to trace items reported missing and to confirm where and when they were found. • Reports immediately to the Assistant Manager and Security any item connected with a suspected theft, a police matter or a guest claim, and leaves the item and its record untouched. • Assists with the periodic review of unclaimed property and with authorized disposal, donation or release to the finder, ensuring each step is documented and witnessed. • Takes part in regular stock counts and reconciliations between the physical stored items and the system record and reports any discrepancy at once. • Keeps the lost property office and storage clean, secure and free of obstructions, and never leaves the store unlocked or unattended. • Prepares the daily handover and shift log so that open enquiries and pending returns pass cleanly to the next shift. • Compiles the routine listings and statistics requested by the Assistant Manager, including items received, returned, shipped and outstanding. • Maintains confidentiality over guest property, identity documents and personal information at all times, in line with UAE law and the resort's data protection standards. • Performs other reasonable duties appropriate to the position as assigned by management. About You: The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications: • High school certificate required; a diploma in hospitality or business administration is an advantage. • Minimum two years of experience in housekeeping administration, front office, guest services, stores or another records intensive role. • Luxury hotel or integrated resort experience is preferred; direct lost property experience and pre-opening experience are advantages. • Confident user of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, with accurate data entry and comfort learning a property management or lost property system. • Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic, Russian, Mandarin or another language relevant to the resort's guest mix is highly desirable. • Exceptional attention to detail, with the patience to search thoroughly and describe items precisely. • Warm, calm and reassuring manner with guests who are anxious or upset about a missing possession, in writing and face to face. • Willingness to follow procedure exactly and to escalate high value items, doubtful claims and anything unusual rather than improvise. • Unquestionable honesty and discretion when handling cash, valuables, identity documents and personal information belonging to guests and colleagues. • Physically able to lift, carry and shelve boxes, luggage and bulky items, and to work in a store environment for extended periods. • Eligible to live and work in the United Arab Emirates, able to satisfy pre-employment screening requirements, and willing to work a rotating shift pattern including weekends and public holidays.
