QA QC Engineer

• Quality System & Plan Implementation: Implement, update, and enforce the project Quality Management System (QMS) and Project Quality Plan (PQP) in alignment with ISO 9001 and project specifications. • Inspection & Testing: Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Material Submittals. Oversee on-site inspections for earthworks, sub-base/base layers, asphalt paving, pipe laying (gravity and pressure sewers), manholes, and underground utility works. • Laboratory & Field Testing Management: Coordinate and supervise all field and third-party laboratory testing, including soil compaction (FDD), concrete sampling, asphalt core testing, hydrostatic/pressure testing for sewerage pipes, and non-destructive testing (NDT). • Defect & NCR Management: Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), track root causes, and oversee corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to closure before proceeding to subsequent construction stages. • Subcontractor & Supplier Control: Conduct quality audits of subcontractors, suppliers, and asphalt/concrete batching plants to ensure compliance with project materials standards. • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain complete quality records, handover files, test reports, and snag lists. Prepare monthly QA/QC progress reports for the Project Manager and client/consultant review. • Handover & Authority Approval: Lead final inspections with consultants and local infrastructure authorities for project handover and snaggings clearance. • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university. • Experience: Minimum 2 to 8 years of hands-on QA/QC experience specifically within roads, highways, drainage, and sewerage network construction projects . • Technical Expertise: • Deep understanding of civil construction standards (AASHTO, ASTM, BS EN) and local infrastructure authority specifications. • Practical knowledge of pipe laying standards (GRP, HDPE, UPVC, VC) and trenchless pipe installation methods (microtunneling/HDD) is a plus. • Experience with asphalt mix designs, concrete quality control, and soil stabilization. • Certifications: Certified ISO 9001 Lead/Internal Auditor or CSWIP/AWS certifications are highly preferred. • Skills & Competencies: • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail on site and in documentation. • Ability to interface confidently with clients, supervision consultants, and site teams. • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quality documentation management software. • Strong leadership skills to enforce quality standards without causing project delays.
