Planning Engineer - Landscape

Planning Engineer – Landscaping Department: Projects Industry: Landscaping, Irrigation & Construction Experience: 7+ years Location: UAE Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with a strong background in landscape construction projects to develop, monitor and control project schedules, ensuring timely completion within approved timelines and budgets. The candidate will coordinate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors and consultants to track progress, identify delays and implement corrective actions. The ideal candidate must have practical experience planning landscaping works, including softscape, hardscape, irrigation systems and external development projects. Key Responsibilities • Develop detailed project schedules, baseline programmes and work plans for landscape construction projects. • Prepare and update project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project. • Plan and monitor activities related to softscape, hardscape, irrigation, planting, paving, external works and site development. • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement and subcontractors to establish project milestones and resource requirements. • Monitor actual progress against planned schedules and identify delays, critical activities and potential risks. • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead programmes, S-curves and progress dashboards. • Conduct site progress reviews and collect updates from project teams to ensure accurate reporting. • Analyse project delays, identify the reasons for slippage and recommend recovery plans. • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of plants, trees, irrigation materials, paving materials and other project requirements. • Monitor manpower, equipment and material requirements in line with project schedules. • Assist in preparing extension-of-time claims, delay analysis and supporting planning documentation. • Coordinate with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders regarding programme updates and project milestones. • Maintain proper records of approved programmes, progress updates, variations and revised schedules. Qualifications and Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Landscape Architecture or a related discipline. • Minimum 7 years of planning experience, preferably with landscaping or landscape construction contractors. • UAE or GCC project experience is preferred. • Proven experience planning landscape construction, irrigation, softscape, hardscape or external development projects. • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project. • Good understanding of project scheduling, critical path analysis, resource planning, progress measurement and delay analysis. • Experience preparing baseline programmes, look-ahead schedules, S-curves and progress reports. • Proficiency in MS Excel and other project reporting tools. • Strong analytical, coordination and communication skills.
