Pharmacy Technician

• Assist pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications and preparations for medical outpatients and inpatients per prescription/medication order • Compound (when applicable) medications under supervision of a Pharmacist • Initiate and maintain computerized and manual patient medication profiles to screen for contraindications, allergies, dose correctness, drug/drug and drug/food interactions, pharmacological duplication and adherence to drug restriction policies • Perform specialty pharmacy activities as delegated • Follow proper handling and storage procedures of medications and recognize physical and chemical changes during storage to avoid dispensing compromised medications • Be familiar with approximately 1,500 line items on the formulary and work shifts/hours to meet operational requirements • Prepare prescriptions and medication-related documentation for the in-charge pharmacist and second pharmacist to dispense • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs • Proper labeling of high alert medications, concentrated electrolytes and hazardous material • Coexist in the pharmacy only during the presence of a pharmacist • Comply with all laws, circulars and regulations related to the pharmacy profession • Valid DOH License as Pharmacy Technician / Assistant Pharmacist • Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) 2-year program • Minimum 2 years’ experience of pharmacy practice in UAE • Hold a current and valid license to practice in home country without conditions or limitations • Excellent command of oral and written English • Knowledge of medication handling, prescription processing, and pharmacy procedures • Good communication, organizational, and customer service skills • Understanding of UAE healthcare regulations and medication safety standards
