Pharmacist

• Select, procure, store, distribute, dispense, and document pharmaceuticals • Provide advice on difficult problems and act independently with legal responsibility for dispensation • Be available on shift and on call for emergencies as required • Provide work direction and supervise Assistant Pharmacists and related staff • Manage and supervise the licensed pharmacy on technical and managerial issues during assigned working hours • Check all aspects of prescriptions, clarify doubts with physicians and insurance, and dispense medication after counseling patients • Dispense controlled/semi-controlled medications and register them per DOH rules and regulations • Perform spontaneous dispensing of some medications • Ensure double checking before dispensing medication to patients • Identify, report and act appropriately in case of medication errors, safety-related risks and incidents • Train newly absorbed staff and supervise them while on probation • Supervise junior pharmacists and support enquiries on drugs • Carry out responsibilities of assistant chief pharmacist in his/her absence • Participate and attend quality related activities • Advise physicians on equivalents/substitutes and help control drug usage when needed • Ensure quality of established pharmaceutical indicators • Observe organizational medical regulations and policies related to infection control, patient safety, patient assessment and patient care • Ensure compliance with laws, circulars and regulations related to the pharmacy profession • Carry out other assignments from the chief pharmacist and department head • Valid DOH License / Pass result as Pharmacist to practice in Abu Dhabi U.A.E. • Holds a current and valid license to practice as a pharmacist in home country • Excellent command of oral and written English/Arabic • Basic computer literacy skills • Thorough knowledge of medical ethics
