Key Responsibilities
Onshore Lift Planning & Risk Assessment
• Develop and review detailed Lift Plans , ensuring exact calculations for rigging geometry, sling angles, and crane capacity margins.
• Assess onshore soil conditions and ground bearing capacities, ensuring proper sizing of outrigger mats, pads, or steel plates to prevent crane instability or tipping.
• Categorize lifting operations strictly into ADNOC classifications: Routine, Non-Routine Simple, Non-Routine Complicated, and Non-Routine Complex.
• Secure necessary Permits to Work (PTW) and specialized Lifting Certificates prior to mobilizing any heavy equipment.
️ Site Supervision & Execution
• Supervise all field lifting activities physically on the ground, ensuring operations mirror the approved engineering drawings and lift plans.
• Lead and coordinate the lifting team , including Mobile Crane Operators, Crawler Operators, Riggers, and Banksmen/Signalers.
• Conduct mandatory daily Toolbox Talks (TBT) to communicate task-specific hazards, heavy equipment blind spots, and exclusion zone boundaries.
• Enforce strict Stop Work Authority during unsafe conditions, specifically monitoring onshore hazards like shifting sand winds, dust-storms restricting visibility, or ambient wind speeds exceeding safe operating limits.
 Onshore Equipment & Safety Management
• Perform pre-use inspections on all mobile cranes, crawler cranes, and loose lifting gear (shackles, slings, spreader bars).
• Verify third-party certification validity (LEEA / ADNOC approved) and ensure all equipment displays the current, correct seasonal color-coding.
• Manage exclusion zones and physical barricading to prevent unauthorized personnel or light vehicles from entering the crane's swing radius or line of fire.
• Education: Minimum Technical Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or an equivalent accredited qualification.
• Experience: 5 to 8+ years of experience in heavy lifting and rigging operations within the Onshore Oil & Gas sector (e.g., cross-country pipelines, live process plants, refineries, or drilling rigs).
• Certifications (Mandatory):
• Valid ADNOC Approved Lifting Supervisor / Appointed Person (AP) Certificate .
• Certification from an ADNOC-approved third-party training provider (e.g., LEEA, TUV, or LIMS), requiring mandatory renewal every three (3) years.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in reading complex multi-crane load charts, calculating ground pressure loads, analyzing crane configurations (boom length, counterweight, radius), and identifying overhead asset hazards (such as high-voltage overhead power lines and pipe racks).
