Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounts team in Dubai. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of accounting principles, basic financial reporting, reconciliations and day-to-day accounting operations.
This is a suitable opportunity for candidates with 1 3 years of accounting experience who are interested in gaining international work exposure in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
• Maintain daily accounting entries and record financial transactions in accounting software or ERP systems.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, receipts and other accounting documents.
• Assist with bank reconciliations, cash book maintenance and petty cash records.
• Track expenses and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
Reporting & Compliance
• Assist in preparing periodic financial reports and statements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in preparing documentation for VAT submissions.
• Maintain accounting records in line with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Support internal and external audits whenever required.
Coordination & Documentation
• Maintain organised accounting files and financial records.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal departments for invoice verification and payment-related clarifications.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
Eligibility Criteria
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial transactions.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software.
• Exposure to ERP or accounting systems will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of VAT and accounting documentation.
• Good numerical skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work within deadlines and coordinate with team members.
