Geologist (Depositional Systems Specialist)

**Key Responsibilities** * Conduct detailed sedimentological, facies, and depositional systems analysis using core, cuttings, petrography, and well log data. * Develop depositional environment models for clastic systems and, where applicable, carbonate systems across field to basin scale. * Apply sequence stratigraphy frameworks to define reservoir architecture, stratigraphic trapping mechanisms, and heterogeneity distribution. * Build regional and field\-scale stratigraphic correlations, chronostratigraphic frameworks, and facies distribution models. * Integrate core, log, and seismic data to generate robust stratigraphic and depositional interpretations. * Construct high\-resolution stratigraphic cross\-sections and correlation panels to support exploration and reservoir characterization. * Design and monitor laboratory programs related to depositional systems, including sedimentology, petrography, biostratigraphy, and chemostratigraphy. * Translate depositional and stratigraphic models into **3D static geological models**, with emphasis on facies distribution, connectivity, and heterogeneity. **Minimum Requirements** * Master’s or PhD degree in **Geoscience**, preferably in Sedimentology, Stratigraphy, or Petroleum Geology. * Minimum **20\+ years of professional upstream experience** in E\&P and/or research and development environments. * Proven experience using industry\-standard geoscience interpretation and modeling tools, such as **Petrel or equivalent platforms**. * Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams, particularly involving geologists, geochemists, and subsurface specialists. * International experience working with major E\&P companies and/or research institutes is strongly preferred. * Strong leadership, strategic thinking, problem\-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work in complex and integrated technical environments. **Education \& Experience** * **20\+ years of demonstrated international upstream experience** with major and/or independent E\&P companies and research institutions. * Proven track record in **sedimentology, stratigraphy, and depositional systems characterization** within exploration and/or reservoir studies. * Middle East experience is considered an advantage. **Key Competencies** * Analytical * Communicative * Achievement\-oriented * Methodical * Conceptual * Resilient * Creative Work Location: In person
