Consultant - Geologist (Prospect Evaluation)

**Key Responsibilities** * Advise on recent trends in exploration activities and support preparation of exploration programs. * Provide advice on the development and formulation of R\&D programs related to exploration activities. * Support manpower planning for technical knowledge and skills development. * Advise on geological and geophysical activities related to prospectivity assessment and de\-risking of drillable locations. * Support effective utilization of available technical resources to achieve exploration targets. * Contribute to program formulation, validation, establishment, and execution. * Provide expert advice on geological risks, opportunities, and uncertainties. * Advise on budget requirements for exploration programs. * Recommend optimal drilling locations, exploration approaches, and development strategies. * Advise on the scope, definition, and development of the technological portfolio in coordination with Planning and other relevant stakeholders. * Translate complex geological data into actionable insights for decision\-making. * Work closely with E\&P companies, technology developers, and research institutes to assess the technical, research, and commercial viability of exploration opportunities. * Collaborate across multiple disciplines, including geophysics, reservoir engineering, drilling, and planning. * Provide innovative and resilient technical recommendations to management. **Minimum Requirements** * Master’s degree in **Geoscience**; PhD preferred. * Minimum **20\+ years of professional upstream experience** in E\&P research and development activities. * Strong experience identifying and evaluating prospective areas and drilling targets, including resource potential estimation. * Experience supporting basin analysis, petroleum system evaluation, and prospect ranking. * Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams involving geochemists, geologists, reservoir engineers, production engineers, and process engineers. * Proven experience in program development, prospect evaluation, and multidisciplinary integration. * Strong capability in integrated G\&G interpretation, including seismic interpretation for prospect identification, uncertainty analysis, and risking. * Ability to evaluate geological risks including trap integrity, reservoir presence, and seal effectiveness. * Knowledge of **geo\-cellular modeling, geomechanical modeling, and fracture modeling**. * Ability to assess geohazards, including faults, overpressure, instability, and drilling risks. * Experience supporting risk mitigation strategies for exploration and development projects. * Strong leadership, teamwork, strategic thinking, problem\-solving, communication, organization, and multitasking abilities. * Ability to prepare technical reports, maps, and management presentations. * Experience supporting training and capability development of national staff. **Education \& Experience** * Master’s degree in **Geoscience / Geology / Geophysics**; PhD preferred. * **20\+ years of demonstrable international upstream experience** with large and small international E\&P companies and ideally research institutes. * Middle East experience is considered beneficial. **Key Competencies** * Analytical and problem\-solving capability * Knowledge and utilization of G\&G software * Strong communication skills * Achievement\-oriented * Articulate and methodical * Clear understanding of the relevant project * Resilient * Creative * Strong execution capability **Technical Competencies** * Innovation * Experience in **Middle East carbonate reservoirs** * Knowledge of **Kuwait petroleum systems, particularly Jurassic\-Cretaceous** * Familiarity with **AI/ML workflows in G\&G interpretation** * Multiple academic publications in recognized trade journals Work Location: In person
