Job description

**Purpose \& Scope** Advise Geologists and Technicians according to assignments and perform or direct geological projects and studies as required. **Key Responsibilities** * Advise and supervise assigned geological personnel. * Guide geologists engaged in technical assignments, team projects, and wellsite work, ensuring correct methods and procedures are followed and work priorities are properly allocated. * Conduct and guide exploration and appraisal projects using modern geological methods. * Identify and recommend the most suitable locations for exploration and appraisal wells and prepare detailed plans for further activities. * Organize and supervise the geological aspects of detailed exploration studies. * Apply appropriate analytical techniques and computer\-based geological technologies where required. * Review and evaluate geological study reports prepared by subordinate geologists and ensure final reports are accurate and complete. * Review and evaluate geological models using geostatistical techniques for play and prospect assessment. * Evaluate sedimentary basins with the objective of locating hydrocarbon accumulations. * Construct and interpret stratigraphic and structural maps and cross\-sections, and integrate geological data from multiple sources to generate leads for new discoveries. * Analyze paleostructural evolution, paleogeomorphic settings, depositional environments, facies patterns, and major tectonic cycles. * Integrate subsurface geological and geophysical data to reconstruct the regional stratigraphic framework of Kuwait. * Identify subtle traps and exploration plays and generate new drillable prospects. * Develop short\- and long\-term exploration strategies, conduct feasibility studies, prepare exploration budgets, and support planning and scheduling of exploration priorities. * Evaluate hydrocarbon potential of prospects and underdeveloped reservoirs. * Prepare specialized geological reports and maintain geological records. **Independence of Operation \& Accountability** * Report to the assigned Team Leader. * Determine work methods in accordance with broad directives and professional geological standards. * Consult with supervisors on major policy\-related issues. * Be accountable for the accuracy of geological data, reports, and analyses, and ensure timely completion of assigned work. **Minimum Requirements** * **PhD in Geology / Exploration Geology / Geosciences.** * Minimum **20\+ years of experience in petroleum geology**, including at least **15 years in exploration and production geology**. * Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams composed of geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, petroleum engineers, and reservoir engineers. * International experience with E\&P companies. * Strong teamwork, leadership, strategic thinking, problem\-solving, communication, organization, flexibility, creativity, and multitasking skills. * Experience in **Triassic–Paleozoic formations**, preferably within the region, is considered an added advantage.
