Fleet Director (Tanker)

We are delighted to have partnered with this ship owning organisation in the search for a Fleet Director. If you are experienced in building a fleet management company from the ground up, then this is the ideal role for you. This role will require a leader who enjoys building and leading a small team, working directly with the owner for quick decision making. You will own the end-to-end establishment of the in-house management company including SMS development, DOC application and systems selection and implementation. You will then negotiate and manage the delivery of vessels into the company including inspections, and work closely with all external stakeholders (insurers, charterers, flag, class, etc). With experience of working in the Gulf of Guinea, you will enjoy regular travel in West Africa. With experience as a Chief Engineer or Master of tankers (oil / chemical), you will have at least 5 years' experience as Fleet / Technical / General Manager and a proven record of establishing a new in-house or management office, with new DOC. You will also a have proven drydock project management background from specification to yard negotiations, yard selection to supervision. Prior DPA / CSO experience is an added advantage, as is experience of Nigerian cabotage requirements. Apply today to arrange a confidential discussion.
