Finance Executive

The opportunity We need someone who can own the accounting for a private family office and work out the detail themselves, so the Director of Strategic Finance can rely on the numbers without going through them line by line. In this role, you will: • Close the books on schedule each month, to an agreed timetable. • Deliver a monthly MIS pack that gives the family a clear view of their position. • File VAT and Corporate Tax returns accurately, with only light review. This is not for you if you need a defined process handed to you, or if you want a purely investment-side role. What you ll do Accounting and reporting • Close the books end to end, including AP and AR. • Record investment transactions and subscription agreements in finance systems such as Zoho, QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero or similar. • Account for investments correctly, in line with how they are structured. • Prepare the monthly MIS, with commentary on what moved and why. • Support consolidation across the entities. Tax and compliance • Prepare and file UAE VAT returns, keeping supporting records in order. • Prepare Corporate Tax computations and returns. Working with the team • Work with colleagues who support the review process, resolving queries early. • Flag gaps or risks to the Director of Strategic Finance with a suggested fix. What we re looking for Must have • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or ACCA. • 2-4 years experience in financial accounting, including investment accounting. • Experience closing books end to end with limited supervision. • UAE VAT and Corporate Tax experience. • Experience producing monthly MIS and supporting consolidation. • The habit of checking the detail yourself, so your work can be relied on without being redone. Nice to have • Family office experience. • Finance experience at a fund house, not on the investment side. • Hands-on use of accounting platforms such as Zoho, QuickBooks, Quicken or Xero.
