Job Description Facade Technical Manager (Glass & Aluminium) Wahat Al Khebra Glass & Aluminium Installation LLC, Dubai, UAE | 16 October 2026 Position Snapshot Job Title Facade Technical Manager (Glass & Aluminium) Reports To General Manager / Director Projects Team Managed Facade designers, draftsmen and technical coordinators Location Dubai, UAE (office-based, with regular factory and site visits) Employment Type Full-time, permanent Experience 8 10 years in facade engineering; minimum 5 years in UAE / GCC; minimum 3 years in a technical lead or manager role Role Summary Leads the technical delivery of all glass and aluminium facade packages from tender to handover, covering design, approvals, procurement, fabrication, installation and testing. Main technical contact for consultants, clients, main contractors and suppliers, and the technical backbone of every project. Scope of Work Unitized and stick curtain wall, structural glazing, ACP and metal cladding, aluminium windows and doors, glass balustrades, canopies and skylights, louvres, screens and perforated mesh. Key Responsibilities 1. Take full technical ownership of all facade packages; review tender, IFC drawings, specifications and BOQs and raise clarifications early. 2. Supervise and approve shop drawings, fabrication drawings, calculations and technical submittals before issue. 3. Coordinate facade interfaces with structure, MEP, architecture, waterproofing, fire stopping and BMU. 4. Lead technical meetings with consultants, clients and main contractors; close out comments and approvals on schedule. 5. Approve systems, profiles, glass build-ups, sealants and hardware; evaluate suppliers technically; propose value engineering. 6. Plan and witness mock-ups and performance tests (air, water, structural); control QA/QC at factory and site. 7. Guide factory production planning and site installation methods; resolve technical defects and inspect before handover. 8. Give technical input to variations, claims and programme updates; support authority approvals (Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, Trakhees / DDA). 9. Manage, train and review the performance of the technical team; maintain drawing standards and document control. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil / Mechanical / Structural / Architectural Engineering. 8 10 years in facade engineering with a contractor or facade specialist, with at least 5 years in the UAE or GCC. At least 3 years leading a design and technical team. Proven delivery of unitized curtain wall and cladding on high-rise or large commercial projects. Technical Skills Curtain wall, structural glazing, cladding, windows, doors, louvres and glass roofs. Aluminium profiles, thermal breaks, finishes and system suppliers (Technal, Sch co, Reynaers, Alumil). Laminated, tempered, heat-strengthened, insulated and low-E glass; fabrication limits. Wind load, deflection, thermal movement, thermal and acoustic performance; able to review facade calculations. Anchors, brackets, fire stopping, sealants, movement joints and waterproofing. Submittals, RFIs, variations, drawing registers and revision control.
