CSSD Technician

• Receive, dis-assemble, clean contaminated equipment and inspect and test all equipment as per established protocols • Provide effective and efficient decontamination and distribution of re-usable medical devices for use in direct patient care • Test and operate washer disinfector machines, driers, sterilizers or any other decontamination equipment within the department as per established protocols • Operate and test all decontamination machinery within the department, and inform supervisors or assistant managers if results are contrary to those required • Undertake quality checks for cleanliness and completeness of equipment before distribution to wards, departments, and theatres • Undertake daily validation tests of decontamination equipment, and ensure appropriate documentation of activities and results • Issue sterile supplied goods and maintain holding stock levels within the wards and departments • Carry out functionality tests on all re-usable medical devices and record and process test results to demonstrate compliance, enable audit and facilitate analysis • Receive and document goods and equipment, check delivery notes against goods delivered for accuracy and record non-conformance • Communicate with colleagues/customers at all levels, including senior staff • Assist in restocking of supplies and record all information required • Carry out assigned clerical tasks as requested by a supervisor • Work in accordance with all safe working policies/procedures of the facility • Take reasonable care of themselves and others who may be affected by their actions • Take all actions to avoid, eliminate or minimize hazards • Seek information to competently and safely perform work and be aware of risks and hazards associated with their work • Report all incidents/injuries • Attend all mandatory training as scheduled by their facility • Valid DOH/DHA license or Eligibility as CSSD Technician to work in the UAE • Min 5 years' experience as CSSD Technician in a JCI Accredited Hospital Facility • Associate degree or Diploma in CSSD technology (minimum two years course duration) • Home country licenses & registrations from home country • Certification by the Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) USA or International Association of Healthcare Central Services Material Management (IAHCSMM) • Excellent communication skills in English • Knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage • Knowledge of infection prevention, sterilization principles, medical-device reprocessing, and quality assurance
