Construction Purchaser

Job Description We are looking for an experienced **Construction Purchaser** to manage and coordinate purchasing activities for construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing construction materials, obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating with suppliers, processing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to project sites. **Bahrain construction experience is a MUST**, with good knowledge of local suppliers, construction materials, pricing, and procurement practices. Key Responsibilities * Handle day\-to\-day purchasing activities for construction projects. * Source and procure **construction materials, tools, equipment, and site supplies**. * Obtain and compare quotations from local suppliers. * Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions. * Prepare and process Purchase Orders based on approved requirements. * Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, quantity surveyors, warehouse, and accounts teams. * Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites. * Monitor pending purchase orders and provide regular procurement status updates. * Verify material specifications, quantities, and quality requirements before placing orders. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with local Bahrain suppliers and subcontractors. * Identify new suppliers and alternative sources to obtain competitive pricing. * Monitor market prices and availability of construction materials. * Maintain accurate records of quotations, purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and supplier documents. * Assist in resolving issues related to delayed deliveries, incorrect materials, shortages, or damaged goods. * Ensure purchasing activities are carried out within approved budgets and company procedures. * Prepare procurement reports and maintain an organized purchasing database. Requirements * Minimum **3–5 years of experience** as a Purchaser, Buyer, Procurement Officer, or similar role in the construction industry. * **Bahrain construction experience is a MUST.** * Strong knowledge of **construction materials, tools, equipment, and site requirements**. * Established knowledge of **Bahrain suppliers and local market prices**. * Experience in obtaining quotations, price comparison, negotiation, and purchase order processing. * Strong supplier and subcontractor coordination skills. * Good knowledge of **MS Office, particularly Excel**. * Strong communication, negotiation, and follow\-up skills. * Excellent organizational and time\-management abilities. * Ability to work under pressure and meet urgent project requirements. * **Locally available in Bahrain.** * **Immediate joiner preferred.** Preferred Candidate Candidates who have worked with **construction contractors, civil contractors, real estate developers, or MEP/construction companies in Bahrain** will be highly preferred. Experience purchasing **civil materials, MEP materials, finishing materials, building materials, tools, and equipment** is an advantage. **Only candidates currently available in Bahrain and with relevant Bahrain construction experience will be considered.** Work Location: In person
