Commis Chef

Key Responsibilities • Prepare ingredients for hot kitchen operations, including washing, cutting, marinating, and portioning. • Assist in cooking Arabic hot dishes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines. • Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef during food preparation and service. • Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently and meet the restaurant's quality standards. • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hot kitchen station at all times. • Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to the Chef de Partie. • Label, date, and store food items properly following the FIFO (First In, First Out) system. • Ensure proper food temperatures during preparation, cooking, holding, and serving. • Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times. • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries in the appropriate areas. • Minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently. • Support other kitchen sections whenever required. • Perform opening and closing duties for the hot kitchen station. • Follow all company policies, health and safety regulations, and kitchen procedures. Skills & Requirements • Basic knowledge of Arabic cuisine and cooking techniques. • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. • Understanding of food safety and HACCP principles. • Good knife skills and food preparation techniques. • Team player with a positive attitude. • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. • Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills. • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
