Commis 1 - Baker/Decorator

Carry out baking-line activities including mixing, portioning, baking, and other production tasks. Assist with basic cake decoration, including piping, drawing, and finishing. Support senior decorators with cake orders when required. Follow standard recipes, decorating guidelines, and production processes consistently. Move between decorating and baking sections based on production volume and operational requirements. Ensure products are completed accurately and to the required quality and presentation standards. Maintain consistent baking and decorating techniques across different orders. Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times. Monitor ingredients and materials and flag shortages or production issues to the relevant section lead. Work collaboratively with the wider production team to ensure orders are completed on time. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment. 2-4 years of experience in baking, pastry, or a similar production environment. Hands-on baking experience, including mixing, portioning, and baking. Basic cake decorating skills, including piping and finishing. Comfortable moving between decorating and baking tasks based on production requirements. Consistent and reliable technique with strong attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards. Reliable, flexible, and willing to support different areas of production when needed. Good teamwork and communication skills. Ability to follow standardized recipes, processes, and quality guidelines consistently. Passion for baking and creating high-quality products.
