Position Purpose The Architect Technical Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating the architectural technical information required for successful execution of the project from the Main Contractor’s side. The position has particular responsibility for coordinating, reviewing, tracking and expediting architectural shop drawings, Material Approval Submissions (MAS), samples, technical queries, mock\-ups, and related technical documentation submitted by multiple subcontractors. Given the fast\-track nature of the 5\-star resort, the partially completed status, multiple subcontractors and ongoing delays, the role requires proactive control of technical deliverables so that approved information is available ahead of site activities and does not become a cause of further delay. 2\. Reporting \& Interfaces * Reports to the Project Manager / Construction Manager. * Coordinates daily with architectural subcontractors, specialist subcontractors, suppliers and nominated parties. * Maintains professional technical communication with the Consultant / Engineer and relevant Client representatives. * Coordinates architectural information with MEP, structural, interior design, landscape and specialist systems teams. 3\. Primary Objective * Maintain a controlled and measurable workflow for all architectural shop drawings and MAS submissions. * Identify technical information gaps and approval constraints before they affect procurement or construction. * Expedite overdue submissions and approvals in line with the recovery requirements of the project. * Ensure that subcontractors work from the latest approved drawings, materials and coordinated information. * Provide accurate technical status information to project management for decision\-making and delay recovery. Key Responsibilities – Shop Drawings \& Technical Submissions 4\.1 Shop Drawing Management * Establish and maintain a master register of all architectural shop drawings by subcontractor, discipline, area, drawing type and required approval date. * Review subcontractor submission schedules against the approved project programme and required site dates. * Coordinate internal technical review before submissions are formally transmitted to the Consultant. * Check drawings for completeness, constructability, dimensional consistency, specification compliance and alignment with contract documents. * Verify coordination with structural, MEP, interior design, FF\&E, kitchen, landscape. * Monitor Consultant comments and revised drawings are returned within the required turnaround period. * Track status from preparation through submission, review, comments, resubmission and final approval. * Identify critical\-path drawings and prioritize them according to upcoming site activities and procurement requirements. * Prevent construction based on superseded, incomplete or unapproved information. 4\.2 Material Approval Submissions (MAS) * Manage the MAS register for architectural finishes, materials, systems, products, samples and specialist items. * Review subcontractor MAS packages for completeness before formal submission. * Check proposed materials against specifications, approved design information, schedules, approved samples and project quality requirements. * Coordinate physical samples, mock\-ups, technical data sheets, certificates, warranties and manufacturer information. * Track Consultant / Client comments and expedite revised MAS submissions. * Coordinate approved materials with procurement and site teams to ensure approved products are available when required. * Flag long\-lead and critical materials immediately and coordinate action plans with procurement and subcontractors. * Maintain clear records of approvals, rejections, conditional approvals and outstanding information. 4\.3 Technical Query / RFI Coordination * Review architectural RFIs / technical queries raised by subcontractors before submission. * Ensure queries are clearly defined, supported by drawings and relevant references, and focused on obtaining timely decisions. * Monitor response dates and escalate overdue technical decisions that may affect construction. * Maintain an RFI tracker and link critical responses to affected shop drawings, MAS, procurement and site activities. 5\. Technical Coordination Responsibilities * Participate in coordination meetings and technical workshops with subcontractors and Consultant representatives. * Identify clashes, inconsistencies and missing interfaces between architectural and other disciplines. * Coordinate details for high\-risk areas such as guestrooms, public areas, restaurants, kitchens, back\-of\-house areas, wet areas, façades and landscape interfaces. * Support preparation and review of coordinated drawings, details, room data, finish schedules and architectural technical packages. * Ensure architectural details are practical for site execution and compatible with approved materials and specialist systems. Responsibilities in Delay Recovery \& Fast\-Track Execution Because the project is partially completed and experiencing ongoing delays, the Architect Technical Engineer shall operate as a proactive technical expeditor. The objective is not only to process documents, but to ensure that technical information is released in time to protect the construction sequence and recovery programme. 6\.1 Technical Recovery Planning * Prepare a prioritized technical submission recovery list based on the current construction programme and critical work fronts. * Identify all overdue, rejected, stalled and repeatedly commented shop drawings and MAS submissions. * Agree realistic recovery dates with each subcontractor and monitor performance against those dates. * Highlight submissions that are directly linked to delayed site activities, procurement, fabrication or installation. * Coordinate daily technical priorities with Planning and Construction teams. * Escalate persistent subcontractor non\-performance to the Project Manager / Construction Manager. 6\.2 Multi\-Subcontractor Coordination * Establish clear submission requirements and standard document quality expectations for all subcontractors. * Coordinate submission sequencing where one subcontractor's information depends on another subcontractor or specialist supplier. * Monitor interface drawings and ensure responsibilities are clearly allocated. * Conduct focused coordination sessions for congested or high\-priority areas. * Maintain an action tracker with responsible party, due date, status and impact. 6\.3 Site Support * Provide technical clarification to site teams based on approved project information. * Review proposed site solutions where discrepancies or unforeseen conditions are encountered, subject to required approvals. * Assist Site Engineers and QA/QC teams in resolving architectural technical issues without compromising design intent or quality. * Verify that approved materials and details are reflected in actual construction. * Support inspections, mock\-up reviews and sample approvals when required. 7\. Document Control \& Reporting * Maintain accurate and current registers for shop drawings, MAS, RFIs, samples, mock\-ups and technical submittals. * Issue weekly technical status reports identifying submitted, approved, rejected, overdue and critical items. * Prepare dashboard information for project management highlighting technical constraints affecting progress. * Maintain traceability between drawing revisions, Consultant comments and subcontractor resubmissions. * Ensure document numbering, revision control and transmittal requirements are followed. * Provide early warning of technical matters that may lead to delay, rework, procurement disruption or additional cost. 8\. Quality, Compliance \& Constructability * Ensure architectural technical submissions comply with contract drawings, specifications, applicable codes and approved design requirements. * Review details for constructability, durability, maintainability, aesthetics and suitability for a 5\-star resort environment. * Coordinate required testing, certifications and specialist technical documentation with QA/QC and suppliers. * Support prevention of rework by ensuring technical information is sufficiently coordinated before release to site. Required Qualifications \& Experience * Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent architectural qualification. * Relevant experience in architectural technical coordination within a Main Contractor environment. * Strong experience with shop drawings, material submittals / MAS, technical queries, mock\-ups and Consultant approvals. * Experience in hospitality, luxury hotel, resort, high\-end residential or similarly quality\-sensitive projects is strongly preferred. * Experience working on fast\-track projects with multiple subcontractors and concurrent work fronts. * Good understanding of architectural finishes, construction details, materials, specifications and site execution. * Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with BIM / Revit and common document control systems is preferred. 10\. Required Competencies * Strong technical and architectural coordination skills. * Excellent follow\-up, organization and document\-control discipline. * Ability to prioritize critical submissions under programme pressure. * Strong communication and coordination skills with subcontractors and Consultant teams. * Problem\-solving and decision\-support capability. * Attention to detail, especially in revisions, interfaces and approval comments. * Ability to work independently while maintaining Work Location: In person
