Job description

We have requirement for the position of "Welding Inspector- CBT". LOCATION: OMAN Key Responsibilities NDT Coordination Witness and validate NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT. Review NDT reports and ensure acceptance criteria compliance. Documentation & Reporting Review and endorse QA/QC documentation including: Welding procedures (WPS/PQR) Inspection reports Material traceability records Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports and submit to client/TPI agency. Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions. Compliance & Standards Ensure adherence to: AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO standards, Client specifications and project requirements Verify material identification and traceability. Stakeholder Coordination Interface with contractor QA/QC, client representatives, and project team. Provide technical clarification and inspection feedback. Required Qualifications & Certifications Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory). CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements). Knowledge of international codes and offshore fabrication standards. Experience Requirements 5-10 years in welding inspection. Mandatory experience in Third Party Inspection (TPI) assignments. Strong background in offshore structures (jackets, topsides, modules) fabricated in onshore yards . Technical Skills Proficiency in welding processes: SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW. Strong understanding of fit-up tolerances and structural fabrication. Ability to read fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and weld maps. Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and documentation systems. Soft Skills High integrity and impartiality (critical for TPI role). Strong reporting and documentation skills. Effective communication with multi-disciplinary teams. Additional Requirements Willing to work in onshore yard environments.
