SUBJECT JOB DESCRIPTION DEPARTMENT Food \& Beverages JOB TITLE Waiter/Waitress Reporting to F \& B Manager MAIN JOB PURPOSE: Ensure that all guests are served to The Secure Inn Hotel’s standard in the 808\-Café \& Restaurant / Rossonery cafe/ My Little Box/Banquet Hall and other F \& B related areas. Display highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times within all food and beverage areas. Takes orders and serve food and beverages to guests as per the hotels standards in a friendly, timely and efficient manner. DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: · Greets guests and presents them with the menu. · Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any. · Suggest Shisha, food and beverages as per the Menu to the guest and also try to upsell. · Take Shisha, food and beverage orders from the guest on the order taking pad (KOT) and give the same to cashier to punch the order in the Point of sale (POS) system. · Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change. · Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor. · Filling in for absent staff as needed · In absence of Cashier during his/her weekly off, if required, Punch the order in the POS machine and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food. Eg: No Garlic, less spicy etc, · Communicate to the guest and provide assistance with their queries. · Co – ordinate/communicate order details with the Shisha Maker, Charcoal Maker, kitchen staff, Cashier, Barista to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction. · Serve the food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order. · Observes guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service. · Promptly respond to guest with any additional request. · Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering Shisha, desserts, drinks and other items as per the Menu, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses etc. · Prepare mixed drinks for service to your customers table. · Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently. · Understands and can communicate products and services available at the 808\-Café \& Restaurant / My Little Box/Banquet Hall and other F \& B related areas. · Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills. · Assist 808\-Café \& Restaurant Incharge with stocking and maintain the 808\-Café \& Restaurant par stock levels and side station. · Help other areas of the 808\-Café \& Restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions. · In absence of Cashier, Print closing report and drop the cash with the front office / accounts department. Tally the Credit Card settlements for the day with the batch closing report from EDC machine. Close the shift on the POS terminal. MANDATORY RESPONSIBILITIES: (These responsibilities are mandatory to all positions) · To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag. To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards. · To provide friendly, courteous and professional service at all times. · To maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and all other departments. · To be aware of the hotel’s Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety. · To comply with Oman legislation as required. · To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel. · To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs. · To attend trainings and meetings as and when required. **PREREQUISITES:** **Education:** High school/Diploma or equivalent. Must speak, read. Write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace. Must be able to speak and understand the primary language used by the guests who visit the hotel. **Experience:** Minimum one year of experience as a Waiter/Waitress.
