Job description
The BIM Modeller – HVAC is responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining high-quality 3D BIM models for HVAC systems using industry-standard software. The role involves producing coordinated construction documentation, participating in clash detection, and ensuring compliance with project requirements, BIM standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed 3D BIM models for HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, equipment, and accessories.
• Prepare coordinated shop drawings, installation drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Produce HVAC layouts, sections, details, and schedules from BIM models.
• Coordinate HVAC models with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines.
• Participate in clash detection and model coordination meetings.
• Resolve clashes and model conflicts under the guidance of the BIM Coordinator.
• Maintain model accuracy throughout all project stages.
• Ensure compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), client requirements, and company standards.
• Generate quantity take-offs and material schedules from BIM models when required.
• Update models based on design revisions, RFIs, and site comments.
• Maintain proper file management, model organization, and version control.
• Support project teams by providing technical BIM assistance.
• Assist in preparing as-built models and project handover documentation.
Required Qualifications
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience as an HVAC BIM Modeller (or as required by the company).
• Experience working on commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and construction practices.
Technical Skills
• Autodesk Revit (Mechanical)
• Autodesk Navisworks
• AutoCAD
• BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (preferred)
• Microsoft Office
• Basic understanding of Dynamo (preferred)
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM workflows is an advantage.
Required Competencies
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and MEP coordination.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with clash detection and model coordination.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Preferred Certifications
• Autodesk Certified Professional – Revit for Mechanical
• BIM-related certifications are an advantage.

• Accuracy and quality of BIM models.
• Timely delivery of project milestones.
• Reduction of coordination clashes.
• Compliance with BIM standards and project requirements.
• Client and project team satisfaction.
• Quality of shop drawings and documentation.
Working Conditions
• Office-based with occasional site visits as required.
• May be required to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
