Job description
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your aluminothermic welding expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You ll work alongside skilled and collaborative teammates. You'll ensure the highest quality and safety standards in railway welding, contributing to the seamless operation of critical rail infrastructure.
You will be responsible for executing aluminothermic (thermite) welding of railway rails, ensuring high-quality welds in full compliance with approved procedures, international standards, and project-specific technical requirements.
We ll look to you for:
• Executing aluminothermic welding (ATW) in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) .
• Installing molds, performing preheating, and executing thermite welding operations .
• Preparing rail joints, including cutting, cleaning, alignment, and gap adjustment .
• Performing finishing operations, including grinding and profile correction .
• Conducting visual inspections and ensuring compliance with quality standards .
• Maintaining welding tools, molds, and equipment in proper working condition .
• Applying strict adherence to HSE procedures and PPE requirements .
• Identifying, reporting, and assisting in resolving non-conformities (NCR) .
• Ensuring weld traceability for each joint executed

• Degree in welding, metalwork, or a related technical/vocational field. .
• Experience or understanding of aluminothermic welding (ATW) on railway projects. .
• Knowledge of grooved rail welding (tramway/LRT systems) and vignole rail welding. .
• Familiarity with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and QA/QC requirements. .
• A certification or communication skill: Strong safety awareness (HSE-first mindset). .
• High attention to detail and precision. .
• Strong expertise in rail joint preparation, including cutting, cleaning, alignment, and gap adjustment.
