Sushi Commis Chef

We are looking for a motivated, hardworking, and passionate **Sushi Commis Chef** to join our team at a high\-end restaurant in Dubai. The ideal candidate should have a genuine interest in Japanese cuisine, basic knowledge of sushi preparation, and a strong willingness to learn and develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities * Assist the Sushi Chef and senior kitchen team with daily sushi preparation. * Prepare ingredients including rice, vegetables, seafood, sauces, and garnishes. * Assist with sushi mise en place before and during service. * Prepare basic sushi items under the supervision of senior chefs. * Follow recipes, preparation methods, portion sizes, and presentation standards. * Handle and store seafood and other ingredients safely and correctly. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station. * Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures. * Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of ingredients. * Assist with stock preparation and minimize food wastage. * Support the sushi team during busy service periods. * Follow instructions from senior chefs and maintain a professional attitude. Main Requirements * Previous experience as a **Sushi Commis Chef or Kitchen Commis** is preferred. * Previous experience in a sushi or Japanese restaurant is an advantage. * Basic knowledge of sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine is preferred. * Culinary training is an advantage. * Good attention to detail and presentation. * Good teamwork and communication skills. * Strong work ethic and positive attitude. * Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, particularly when handling raw seafood. * Ability to work efficiently in a fast\-paced kitchen environment. * Physically fit and able to work flexible shifts. * Willingness to work weekends and public holidays. Pay: AED3,000\.00 per month Work Location: In person
