Site General Manager

The Site General Manager (Site GM) is responsible for the overall management, performance, and profitability of the assigned logistics site, ensuring efficient and effective execution of warehouse, distribution, transportation, and other logistics operations. The role oversees all site activities, including operational performance, financial management, customer satisfaction, workforce planning, health and safety, and regulatory compliance. The Site GM will lead site management teams and collaborate closely with commercial, finance, human resources, procurement, and other support functions to achieve business objectives. The role emphasizes operational excellence, cost efficiency, customer service, continuous improvement, and a digital-first, data-driven approach to managing site performance. Main Job Responsibilities 1. Operational Management • Oversee the overall daily operations of the assigned logistics site, ensuring efficient warehouse management, transportation, distribution, inventory control, and order fulfillment. • Ensure all site operations comply with customer contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), company policies, quality standards, and operational requirements. • Take full accountability for site performance, productivity, operational efficiency, and achievement of agreed business targets. • Monitor operational KPIs, including productivity, throughput, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, on-time delivery, and service quality. • Ensure optimal utilization of site facilities, equipment, vehicles, and manpower to maximize operational efficiency. • Identify operational challenges and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions and improve service delivery. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Management, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and process optimization. 2. Financial & Business Performance • Take ownership of the site's financial performance, including revenue, operating expenses, profitability, and budget management. • Develop and manage annual operational budgets in coordination with finance and senior management. • Monitor costs, analyze financial variances, and implement cost-control initiatives without compromising service quality. • Identify opportunities to improve site profitability, optimize resources, and increase operational efficiency. • Ensure effective management of operational assets, equipment, facilities, and consumables. • Monitor financial and operational dashboards to support informed, data-driven decision-making. 3. People & Leadership Management • Lead, manage, and develop the site management team, including operations managers, supervisors, and frontline employees. • Establish clear performance objectives and ensure accountability across all site departments. • Monitor employee performance, conduct regular reviews, and identify training and development needs. • Ensure effective workforce planning, manpower allocation, shift scheduling, and succession planning. • Foster a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, productivity, and employee engagement. • Ensure compliance with company HR policies, UAE labor regulations, and workforce management requirements. • Build a strong leadership culture and develop a capable team to support the site's long-term growth. 4. Customer & Stakeholder Management • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery. • Act as the main escalation point for major operational issues, customer complaints, and service-related challenges at the site. • Ensure customer contractual obligations and SLAs are consistently achieved. • Collaborate with commercial teams to support customer retention, business growth, and new business opportunities. • Coordinate with internal departments, including finance, HR, procurement, IT, and commercial, to ensure smooth site operations. • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, service providers, and relevant external stakeholders. 5. Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance • Ensure full compliance with UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations and applicable international standards. • Promote a strong safety culture across all site operations and ensure employees adhere to established HSE procedures. • Oversee regular site inspections, operational audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews. • Ensure adherence to applicable quality management standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, where relevant. • Investigate incidents, implement corrective and preventive actions, and minimize operational risks. • Ensure the site maintains appropriate emergency response plans and business continuity procedures. 6. Strategic & Site Development Responsibilities • Develop and implement site operational strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives. • Identify opportunities to expand site capacity, improve infrastructure, optimize warehouse layouts, and enhance operational capabilities. • Lead the implementation of new operational processes, technologies, automation solutions, and digital systems, including WMS, TMS, and ERP platforms. • Support the setup, expansion, and commissioning of new facilities or additional site operations. • Lead capacity planning to ensure the site is prepared for seasonal demand, business growth, and fluctuations in operational volumes. • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure business continuity and resilience. • Drive digital transformation initiatives and the use of data analytics to enhance operational visibility, productivity, and decision-making. • Identify opportunities for business growth, operational expansion, and service diversification within the UAE and regional markets. 7. General Responsibilities • Prepare and present regular operational and financial performance reports to senior management. • Ensure effective communication and coordination across all site departments. • Represent the company in relevant customer meetings, operational reviews, audits, and external engagements. • Ensure all site activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, and business objectives. • Undertake any other job-related responsibilities, projects, or assignments as requested by the direct supervisor or senior management. Bachelor s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, Administration, or a related field Master s degree Hands-on experience in logistics, supply chain, or eCommerce fulfillment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in managing large-scale logistics operations, preferably in eCommerce or retail logistics. Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and route optimization tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to logistics and transportation in the GCC region
