Senior Technical Engineer (Architect) Java

Key Responsibilities • Solution Architecture: Translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical specifications, driving the design of complex, scalable systems using proven design patterns and API standards. • Technical Leadership: Lead the technical design and build process across teams, reviewing and approving architectures to ensure alignment with IT standards and scalability goals. • Engineering Excellence: Champion automation, CI/CD, and lean software development practices. Define and refine engineering playbooks and conduct root cause analyses to improve system reliability. • Innovation & Discovery: Lead discovery phases for major projects, conducting Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) and prototypes to validate technical approaches. • Mentorship & Quality: Mentor software engineers on clean code practices, debugging, and automated testing. Influence development teams to adopt high-quality coding standards and perform rigorous code reviews. • Performance & Troubleshooting: Investigate complex, rare edge-case issues and perform deep-dive troubleshooting, including JVM tuning, to ensure optimal system performance. • Technical Strategy: Provide critical input into technical debt remediation strategies, partnering with infrastructure, security, and service management teams. • Operational Monitoring: Define and measure engineering metrics (agility, scalability, reliability) to ensure solutions deliver consistent business value. Required Qualifications • Core Java & Frameworks: Expert-level proficiency in Core Java and the Spring ecosystem. • System Design: Deep knowledge of design patterns, API design standards, and high-availability/scalability architecture. • Data Engineering: Extensive experience with SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL database technologies. • Integration: Strong background in integration technologies, specifically RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures (Kafka). • Modern Platform Skills: Proven experience with Cloud environments and containerized orchestration. • DevOps & Quality: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (functional/non-functional), and performance engineering. • Security: Solid understanding of secure coding practices and the OWASP Top 10. • Troubleshooting: Expert ability to perform production support, root cause analysis, and JVM performance tuning. Nice-to-Have • Experience in aviation or large-scale travel technology environments. • Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in technical communities. • Certification in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
