Senior Structural Design Manager

Key Responsibilities • Lead the structural design development for residential projects from concept through detailed design and construction support. • Manage and review the work of external design consultants and engineering partners. • Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code, international design standards, and project-specific requirements. • Coordinate structural design activities with architecture, MEP, infrastructure, and other disciplines. • Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical submissions. • Identify design risks and implement mitigation measures to support project delivery. • Monitor design progress against project schedules and budgets. • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and junior engineers. • Support value engineering initiatives without compromising quality, safety, or performance. • Participate in design reviews, workshops, stakeholder meetings, and technical presentations. • Provide construction-phase support, including RFI responses, design clarifications, and site issue resolution. Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of structural design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, and similar tools. • Thorough understanding of Saudi and international design codes and standards. • Experience managing multidisciplinary design coordination. • Excellent stakeholder management and consultant management skills. • Strong commercial awareness and value engineering experience. Preferred Experience • Large-scale residential master-planned communities. • Mega and giga projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC. • Design management within developer organizations. • Experience interfacing with authorities and regulatory bodies. • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred). • Professional Engineering registration or chartership preferred (PE, CEng, ICE, or equivalent). • Minimum 15 years of experience in structural design and engineering. • At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing large residential or mixed-use developments. • Strong experience with reinforced concrete, steel structures, high-rise residential buildings, and residential communities. • Experience working with major developers, engineering consultancies, or giga projects is highly desirable.
