About the Role We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java experience to help design, build and improve scalable backend systems.
You'll work with Java, Spring Boot, microservices and distributed systems , taking ownership of projects from design through to production.

Responsibilities • Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot and microservices.
• Build and optimise distributed systems , focusing on performance, security and reliability.
• Take ownership of projects from architecture and development through to deployment.
• Develop secure REST APIs and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Work with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD to support cloud-native applications.
• Improve system performance, monitoring and observability.
• Collaborate with and mentor engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.
Requirements • 8+ years of experience in Java software engineering and distributed systems.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security and REST APIs .
• Experience building and maintaining production microservices .
• Solid understanding of system design, OOP and design patterns .
• Experience with SQL databases and Redis .
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines .
• Understanding of application security and observability .
Preferred Skills • Kafka, RabbitMQ or Cassandra.
• Terraform, gRPC or Protocol Buffers.
• JVM performance tuning or reactive Java frameworks.
• Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry.
• Experience in regulated or high-availability environments.
