Senior Lawyer

The **Senior Commercial Lawyer / Legal Consultant** will play a key role in advising clients on corporate and commercial matters, drafting and reviewing contracts, structuring commercial transactions, and providing strategic legal advice across regulatory and business operations. The role is primarily advisory and transactional in nature, with a strong emphasis on commercial law rather than litigation. While experience in dispute resolution is beneficial, the successful candidate will be expected to focus on delivering practical legal solutions, preparing legal opinions, negotiating commercial agreements, supporting clients with compliance matters, and maintaining strong client relationships. The Senior Lawyer will also mentor junior team members, contribute to business development, and collaborate closely with colleagues and clients. This is a full\-time, on\-site role based in Muscat. Qualifications * Strong expertise in **corporate, commercial, and contract law**, with the ability to advise on complex transactions, commercial agreements, and business operations. * Demonstrated experience as a **Legal Consultant or Commercial Lawyer**, with a primary focus on advisory, transactional, and regulatory work rather than litigation. * Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills, including commercial agreements, legal memoranda, legal opinions, corporate documentation, and policy documents. * Sound understanding of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, company formation, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial risk management. * Litigation and dispute resolution experience is an advantage but is **not the primary focus** of this role. * Excellent analytical, legal research, and problem\-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and commercial awareness. * Strong client relationship management, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. * Ability to supervise, mentor, and guide junior lawyers and support staff in a collaborative team environment. * Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; an advanced legal qualification or professional certification is an advantage. * Relevant Bar admission or licence to practise law, with several years of post\-qualification experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment. * High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice. * Excellent command of written and spoken English; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
