Role Summary
We need a very experienced expert to completely run, upgrade, and support the Blackboard university learning platform for the next year.
This is a unique job for a single specialist who can handle both sides of the platform. You will be the person who fixes back-end database bugs and connects Blackboard to our main university systems. At the same time, you will work directly with our academic team to design course templates and personally run training workshops for our professors. You will be physically onsite every day to handle updates, fix errors, and keep the system running smoothly.
This isn t a standard tech support or teaching job it s a hybrid role for one highly senior person.
Scope of Work
The person needs to be a senior technical + functional Blackboard Ultra specialist, covering:
• Blackboard Learn SaaS & Ultra
• Blackboard administration and data remediation
• SIS integration Banner mandatory, SAP SLcM preferred
• SSO/MFA, roles, security and access management
• SIS/identity feeds and integrations
• LTI 1.3 / REST integrations
• Release and configuration management
• Ultra course design and migration/conversion
• Gradebook, assessments, tests and rubrics
• Blackboard Goals / CLO mapping
• Accessibility and Ally
• Analytics / Blackboard Data / Illuminate
• Faculty enablement and Tier 2/3 support
• Documentation, knowledge transfer and handover
SOW Requirements
• Workweek: Sunday Thursday
• Contract Duration: 12 months
• Coverage: Technical + Functional
• Experience: Minimum 12 years hands-on Blackboard Learn
• Ultra/SaaS: Minimum 5 years Blackboard Learn SaaS & Ultra
• Higher Education: Minimum 2 comparable engagements
• Research University: At least 1 complex research university
• SIS: Enterprise Banner SIS integration mandatory
• SAP SLcM: Preferred
