Senior Accountant

A. Job Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for analyzing and controlling costs, preparing financial reports, and managing the organization's Management Information System (MIS). This role ensures accurate cost calculations, financial planning, and data-driven decision-making to optimize business performance. B. Key Responsibilities Core Area: 1. Cost Accounting & Analysis - Maintain and analyze cost records for raw materials, production, labor, and overhead expenses. - Conduct variance analysis between actual and standard costs and provide insights. - Monitor and control inventory costing to ensure proper valuation. - Develop and maintain costing models for new and existing products/services. 2. MIS Reporting & Data Analysis - Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and financial statements for management. - Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and business opportunities. - Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports for decision-making. - Collaborate with different departments to gather and validate data. 3. Budgeting & Forecasting - Assist in preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business plans. - Track budget vs. actual performance and report variances. - Support financial planning by providing cost insights and projections. 4. Internal Controls & Compliance - Ensure compliance with cost accounting standards and company policies. - Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and regulatory reporting. - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency. 5. ERP & Financial Systems Management - Utilize ERP software and financial tools for cost tracking and MIS reporting. - Ensuring integration of MIS with other financial and operational systems. - Support automation and process enhancement initiatives. - Carry any other duties may be assigned by direct supervisor. C. Job Specifications Education - Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or cost accounting. - Professional certificates such as CMA, CA, or equivalent is preferred Experience - Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing. - Experience in costing and MIS - Proficiency in financial software & ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). - Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis - Pharmaceutical industry experience or similar is a plus Functional Competencies 1. Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis - Costing Methods & Techniques: Knowledge of standard costing, activity-based costing (ABC), job costing, and process costing. - Variance Analysis: Ability to analyze cost variances (Material, Labor, Overhead) and identify corrective actions. - Inventory & Overhead Cost Management: Understanding of cost allocation, absorption costing, and marginal costing principles. - Product Pricing & Cost Estimation: Expertise in determining product/service costs and setting profitable pricing strategies. 2. Management Information System (MIS) & Reporting - MIS Reporting & Dashboarding: Ability to prepare financial dashboards, cost reports, and trend analysis for management. - Data Analytics & Forecasting: Experience in financial modeling, trend analysis, and cost projections - Budgeting & Financial Planning: Skills in preparing budgets, monitoring variances, and making data-driven recommendations. - Profitability & Performance Analysis: Assessing cost structures, break-even analysis, and improving financial efficiency. 3. Compliance, Auditing & Internal Controls - Cost Accounting Standards & Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and local cost accounting regulations. - Audit & Financial Control Processes: Ability to maintain documentation and records for cost audits and financial audits. - Internal Controls & Risk Management: Implementing cost control policies and fraud prevention measures. 4. ERP & Financial Systems Management - ERP Systems Proficiency: Experience with SAP, Oracle, Tally, Microsoft Dynamics, or other financial systems - Advanced Excel & Financial Modeling: Strong skills in Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Macros, and data analysis tools. - Automation & Digital Transformation: Ability to integrate digital tools for cost management and financial reporting.
