Senior Accountant

**Job Summary** We are seeking a highly experienced and detail\-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate is a strategic financial leader with a minimum of **10 years** of progressive accounting experience and holds either a **CPA or CMA certification**. This role requires a professional with extensive knowledge of theGCC regulatory environment, including VAT, Corporate Tax, and local banking practices. You will be responsible for overseeing the full accounting cycle, ensuring financial accuracy, improving processes, and providing strategic insights to support business growth. **Key Responsibilities** **General Accounting \& Operations:** * Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including month\-end and year\-end close processes. * Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements (P\&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS. * Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and intercompany transactions. * Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. **Financial Analysis \& Strategy:** * Perform detailed variance analysis between actual results and budgets/forecasts. * Conduct cost accounting analysis to identify inefficiencies and recommend cost\-saving measures. * Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision\-making. * Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts. **Compliance \& Taxation (GCC Focus):** * Ensure strict compliance with **GCC VAT regulations**, including timely filing of returns and handling of tax audits. * Stay updated on the evolving **GCC Corporate Tax** landscape and ensure the company's financial practices remain compliant. * Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies within the GCC region. **Process Improvement:** * Evaluate existing accounting systems and processes; recommend and implement improvements to enhance efficiency. * Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff. **Qualifications \& Requirements** **Education:** * **Bachelor's Degree** in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus). **Certifications (Required):** * Must hold **either**: * **Certified Public Accountant (CPA)** – Active and in good standing, **OR** * **Certified Management Accountant (CMA)** – Active and in good standing. **Experience:** * Minimum of **10 years** of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3\-5 years in a Senior Accountant role. * **Essential:** Significant work experience within the **GCC region** (UAE, KSA, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, or Bahrain). **Skills \& Competencies:** * Deep understanding of **IFRS** and local GAAP. * Expert proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced MS Excel skills. * In\-depth knowledge of GCC VAT and Corporate Tax legislation. * Excellent analytical, problem\-solving, and organizational skills. * Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non\-financial stakeholders.
